Tempranillo is a quality red wine grape that is grown all over Spain, except in the very hot South of the country. In Rioja and Navarra it constitutes around 70% of most red blends. Tempranillo wines tend to have spicy, herbal, tobacco-like characteristics with ripe strawberry and red cherry fruits. Although it produces fresh, vibrantly fruit driven wines, it really comes into its own when oak aged, as with the top Riojas, and its flavours harmonise perfectly with the French and American oak, to produce rich, powerful and concentrated Tempranillo wines which can be extraordinarily long-lived.
Our suppliers come from all around the world, but they share one common goal – quality.
